As described by the State of California - The Resources Agency DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION: 480 5th Street is a 2-story concrete frame industrial building designed in the Renaissance Revival style. The rectangular-plan building, clad in smooth stucco, is capped by a flat built-up roof. The foundation is concrete. The primary façade faces east and includes 3 structural bays. Entrances include a paneled wood door with a fanlight-shaped glazed transom and circular ornament in the wood panels, and a metal roll-up garage door. The upper stories feature casement wood-sash windows with arched surrounds, entablature, molded surrounds, pilasters, and spandrel panel trim. The windows on the second story appear to be highly unique.
