The garish paint colors certainly embolden the details on this Queen Anne. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

In fact, at first glance, the more subtlety hued black and white photo doesn't even look like the same house.

A more subtle paint scheme would highlight the details while allowing the unsightly garage to fade into the background.
